LITTLE THINGS MATTER – They Make a Big Difference in Our Lives
Have you ever pulled a wood-tick off your arm – or maybe even your shirtsleeve just before bed? That loan tick will cause you to wonder if there are any more, so if you don’t take a shower, you’re going to itch everywhere – all night long.
Now let’s raise the bar even more. Suppose you wake up in the middle of the night to find a wood-tick crawling up your leg. Even if it’s the only wood-tick you’ve seen in the last ten years, you’re going to shake out the sheets, take a shower and vacuum the floor before you hop back in the sack.
The facts are little things matter.
Is being 5 minutes late for a job interview a little thing? If you see a fly land in your soup – what are you going to do? If you don’t recognize a small charge on your credit card bill, are you going to let it go? What if a single mosquito buzzes near your ear? How about being just a minute late for a flight? One tiny minute.
Do you remember your first kiss? Wow – not much too it, but it sure meant a lot. Or how about a first date when you brought a single flower with you to make a good impression! Such a little thing, but it sure mattered.
Yes, little things do indeed matter. Like writing a sincere thank you note to someone you care about. Or how about a love note to your kids, your parents or even a sibling! Would it be a little thing if you enlarged your favorite picture of your spouse and simply wrote, “I love you” with one of those big permanent markers and had the picture framed!
You might surprise your spouse with a hot cup of coffee as they step out of the shower in the early morning. What do you think about putting a love note inside the dishwasher, the clothes dryer or underneath the pillow!
Let’s pray, “Dear God please help me to get outside of myself so I can think more about how to delight the people I love so much. I want to surprise them with little tokens of my love. Please help me to re-energize my marriage and my important relationships with little things that I know will make a big difference. Amen.”
Little Big Things friends, one of the little things that you can do right now, is share this video with your friends. With your help, we can spread God inspired messages like this and make a big difference in lives around the world. Thank you.
