GOD IS CALLING – In Good Times and Bad, God is Calling You
God is calling. Yes – God is calling you and I to flee to him. To run into his presence. Not only to dwell with God, but to let him dwell in you. He’s calling us, the same way you would call your little child; calling us to safety in times of trouble; calling us to share our victories with him and calling us because he sees danger and wants so much to protect us.
Our amazing God understands our fears and knows there are times of trouble. He knows how life can be a battle, but the good news is that he has already won the war. Yes, the ultimate victory belongs to him already – and he wants to share it with you!
That’s because God owns the beginning, and he also controls the ending. He’s not worried when your baseball team is losing, because he knows a big walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth inning for the home team is coming. He doesn’t fret that your football team is down by 13 points with two minutes to play, because he knows the final outcome is victory.
Yes, God owns the victory! And God knows there is more joy in a come-from-behind, edge of your seat victory than there is by winning with a lopsided lead. He also realizes how lopsided leads can often lead to complacency.
Perhaps that’s why some people say God is more interested in our character than our comfort. Think of it this way: When we struggle through learning to add, most of us are lucky enough to learn how to multiply, divide, then fractions and more. You get the picture. There is not a doubt that good parents want their kids to be confident in math – even though it may take effort to get there.
In the same way, God wants to embrace you no matter what part of life you are in. Whether you’re winning, losing or struggling God is calling you. He loves to share your victories, and knows what pain and defeat feels like. That’s why God is calling you right now.
