WAY TO GO GOD! – Daily Devotional – Little Big Things
A guy went ice fishing for the very first time. As he got ready to drill a hole in the ice he heard a loud booming voice say, “There are no fish there” so he moved a little ways away and started to get ready to drill again. Once again he heard a strong deep voice say, “There are no fish under the ice” so he looked up and asked, “Is that you, God?” “No” the voice boomed, “I’m the hockey rink manager.”
Seriously, I enjoy talking to God throughout my day. When the “parking angels” give me a good parking space I like to say, “Way to go God!” After mowing the lawn or finishing any job, I like to take a satisfied last look at my work and comment, “Thank you God”just because I was able to successfully complete a task.
We can talk to God and be thankful when we are washing our children’s clothes, doing the dishes or getting a drink of water. We are so blessed with so many conveniences!
God knows me so well, that he’s counted the hairs are on my head, and Jesus says he is always with me. So why not talk to him and be thankful to him throughout your day.
And don’t be surprised if you catch him loving you. You might even hear his voice. Now it’s probably won’t boom like the hockey rink managers voice.
In fact, I’ve heard that God likes to whisper, “I love you.”
If you’d like to talk more with God, and hear more “I love you” whispers, I think you’ll be absolutely delighted by Timothy Keller’s book, “The Prodigal God.”
