HOW TO OVERCOME DISCOURAGEMENT & Find Strength in God ✝️

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed, scared, or weighed down by challenges in life?   With our constant flow of negative news and uncertainty, it’s easy to get caught up in the churn of pessimism, anxiety, and even depression.

But here’s the truth: there is a way out that is powerful, practical, and proven.  This video is going to uncover powerful insights and practical strategies to find hope, overcome discouragement, and to find strength in God.  Get ready to unlock the power of faith in your own life!

Let’s start by imagining your absolute love for something like a Broadway play, the Boston Red Sox, or the Green Bay Packers. When your team scores, you can’t help but leap from your seat, thrust your arms in the air, and cheer out loud.  Likewise, at the end of a phenomenal performance, you rise with passion, offering a resounding standing ovation. This enthusiastic expression is a natural response to something you deeply cherish.

Similarly, in the midst of deep discouragement and struggles, the Psalms shows us the power of announcing, even shouting out loud to God and to ourselves.  Picture King David engaging in a fierce internal debate as he declares three times: “I will put my hope in God!” (Psalm 42:5, Psalm42:11; Psalm 43:5). He doesn’t merely whisper these words quietly to himself; HE BOLDLY DECLARES HIS UNWAVERING TRUST IN GOD, AS IF ENGAGING IN A HEARTFELT CONVERSATION WITH HIMSELF!

Just listen to the emotion of distress in the opening words of Psalm 42: “As a deer pants for streams of water so I long for you, O God.” Then feel the overwhelming anguish in the opening words of Psalm 43: “O God, take up my cause!  Rescue me…”  Can you feel the deep emotions?

By verbalizing “I will put my hope in God!” we too can reinforce the truth when we are overwhelmed with emotions.  When we say out loud, “I will put my hope in God!” it becomes a proclamation and declaration of our allegiance.  We anchor our hope in God, and establish Him as our fortress and stronghold.  We speak out loud and remind ourselves that God reigns as the sovereign force in our lives yesterday, today, and forever.

Take a moment to reflect on this truth: God is still in charge. He holds the ultimate authority, and nothing enters His stronghold without His permission and purpose.  Who is in charge?  God is.  In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, it’s essential to reaffirm that our hope rests solely in God. He alone is our safe haven, our refuge in the storms of life (Psalm 43:2).

When we choose to audibly proclaim our allegiance to God, something extraordinary happens. Our perspective shifts. We begin to look beyond our immediate circumstances, knowing that the eternal God, the One who holds all things in His hands, is truly in control. We become attuned to the rhythm of his plan, trusting that he is leading us and we are on his team.

So today, let us spread the word and say it out loud right now. “I WILL PUT MY HOPE IN GOD.”  Then let your hands proclaim the same thing – out loud as you comment, “I will put my hope in God.”  Like drinking water throughout the day, this proclamation can refresh us every time we say it, as you let this truth become a cornerstone of your life.
