How to WIN the Fight Inside Your Head – JESUS’ ✝️ SECRET WEAPON
Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed, when a flood of emotions engulfs you or you want to explode? We’ve all been there, but here’s something incredible:
Jesus has given us the secret to conquer this horrible enemy. It’s a weapon of such immense power that it can overcome any attack, emotion, or problem you may face. And the best part? Every Christian can wield this weapon. By the end of this video, you’ll discover how to harness this extraordinary power for yourself!
Let’s start by contemplating the word “authority.” Think about the police, the IRS, or a judge in a courtroom—they all represent authority. Synonyms for authority include commander, superior, and leader. To help you grasp the idea of authority in modern terms, imagine this: road work is being done right in front of your house. Your yard is a mess of dirt and torn shrubbery, so you ask one of the city workers to remove a dead tree that’s barely on your property. And what do they say? A resounding “no.” You try your luck with a supervisor, but the answer remains the same— “sorry, but no.”
Now, suppose you happen to be good friends with the Mayor of your city. Armed with a letter personally signed by the Mayor, you approach that same supervisor who previously denied your request to remove the tree. Suddenly, your appeal carries UNDENIABLE AUTHORITY. Guess what? Your request is granted, and that tree is swiftly removed!
This notion of authority and power leads us back to a time when you felt consumed by anger, depression, distress, or offense to the point where you wanted to scream. You were utterly overwhelmed. Now, think of the time Jesus spent all alone in the desert, fasting for 40 days. Imagine his exhaustion, his yearning for companionship, and his physical weakness due to hunger. Jesus, too, was utterly overwhelmed.
What’s fascinating is that we and Jesus have all experienced being overwhelmed. But here’s the remarkable part: Jesus discovered a way to triumph over it and wants to show you how to do the same.
Notice what happened next. During this overwhelming time, Satan showed up and tempted Jesus – not once, but three times. Perhaps this too, sounds familiar for you as Satan tempts us to lash out, tempts us to sulk, to drink, to do pornography, or talk badly about others in times when we are overwhelmed. He attacks all of us, including Jesus, during our distressed, tired, hurt and overwhelming times.
Do you remember what Jesus did? What authority did he present to beat these temptations?
Jesus answered every temptation by quoting scripture – out loud. Just the action of speaking scripture gave Jesus the enormous authority of God’s power.
As soon as any temptation even begins, we too, can quote scripture by saying words we’ve already memorized – right from the Lord’s prayer – by simply saying out loud, “Jesus, please lead me not into temptation.”
The name “JESUS” has total AUTHORITY over Satan and his battle schemes. Over and over the Bible says, “In Jesus’ name.” Demons were cast out in his name. Mark 16:17-18 Healing occurred in his name. Acts 3:6. Demons submitted in his name. Luke 10:17 Salvation comes in his name. Acts 4:12, Rom. 10:13 Paul even said, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:17
No matter what the battle. . . We can call out Jesus’ name. He is waiting for you – right now – and wants to help you win! Let’s pray in Jesus’ name right now together!
“Dear Jesus, please help us to have the courage to call your name out loud. . . Jesus! Jesus, lead us not into temptation. Jesus, help us to be our best. Jesus, give us strength. Jesus, your mighty name has all authority in heaven and earth. Jesus, you alone are God. Jesus, I make you my Lord and Savior. Amen.”
Right now, let’s use our hands to call out to Jesus authority by commenting, “Jesus, you are my God.” We have power when we write them, say them, read them, and share them with others.
